This policy explains what personal information Garaijin collects, why, and the choices you have. We have kept it as plain as we can.
01Who we are
This policy is issued by Garaijin LLC (“Garaijin”, “we”, “us”), which operates this website and the Echo platform. We are the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us at hello@garaijin.xyz.
02Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the site and the Echo beta:
- Contact details you send us, such as your name, email address, company and the contents of your message.
- Waitlist details, such as your email and whether you are a creator, brand or studio.
- For beta participants who opt in: face and voice recordings, and the likeness models trained from them.
- License records: requests, approvals, declines, rules you set and payout details.
- Technical data our hosting provider logs, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and reliability.
03How we use it
- To reply to messages and manage access to the beta.
- To train, store and run your likeness model, only for uses you approve.
- To watermark renders and keep an audit trail of every license.
- To pay you for licenses you approve.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations.
04Likeness data
Your recordings and models are the most sensitive data we hold, so they get stricter handling. They are encrypted with keys unique to you, loaded only for a render you have approved, and never used to train models for anyone else.
You can withdraw consent at any time. When you do, we stop all new renders immediately and delete your recordings and models within 30 days. Records of licenses you already granted are kept so both sides can prove what was agreed.
05Legal bases
Where laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply, we rely on your explicit consent for likeness data, on contract to provide the service and process payouts, on legitimate interests to secure the site and respond to enquiries, and on legal obligation where the law requires us to keep records.
07International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we use safeguards such as standard contractual clauses to protect it.
08How long we keep it
We keep contact and waitlist details until you ask us to delete them or the beta ends. Likeness data is kept while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of closure. License and payment records are kept for as long as tax and contract law require.
09Security
We use encryption in transit and at rest, per-person keys for likeness data, access controls and an append-only audit log. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell affected people promptly if a breach puts their data at risk.
10Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your information, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent. Write to hello@garaijin.xyz and we will respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
11Children
Echo is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
13Changes to this policy
We will update this page as Echo grows. If a change affects how we use likeness data, we will tell beta participants directly first.
